Protesting police inaction in a case where a 15-year-old went missing,residents of a jhuggi cluster in Northwest Delhi went on a rampage and damaged two low-floor buses and a Blueline bus on Saturday night. According to the police,the incident was reported from GP block of Maurya Enclave. The police said the girl had left home to go to school on February 23,but never reached school. On basis of her father,Prem Shankar’s complaint a missing case was registered. The police said the protest lasted for over an hour and a half and the police had to use mild force to control the crowd. The protesters dispersed after senior police officers assured them of action.

MCD to seal defaulters’ properties
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will start sealing the properties against which conversion and parking charges have not been paid,starting next week. According to MCD officials,the agency is still to receive conversion and parking charges from 40 per cent of traders and professionals in the Capital. Earlier,a survey was conducted in 12 MCD zones to identify such properties.

Fake degrees: Couple held
The South Delhi police arrested a couple who allegedly cheated over 113 BEd and MEd aspirants of over Rs 65 lakh. Police officers said the couple promised their victims degrees from Jammu and Kashmir and Kurkshetra Universities. The two were identified as Rochak Sharma (28) and his wife Jasmine (27). The Crime Branch is probing the case filed on a complaint that stated Rochak,the director of Dolphin College in Vikaspuri,collected money from several students and later closed down the office. They then started a new institute in Janakpuri and cheated others. A city court has issued non bailable warrants against both.

4 hurt as mini-bus overturns
Four persons were injured after a mini-bus in which they were travelling turned turtle in Pandav Nagar,East Delhi around 9 am on Sunday. The police said the bus was overloaded and collided with a cycle-rickshaw before it overturned. The bus driver and conductor abandoned the vehicle and fled from the spot. The bus,which plies between Shahstri Park and Mayur Vihar Phase III,has been impounded and a case of rash and negligent driving has been registered against the driver.
