Minister announces new hospital
Minister of Health and Family Welfare,Kiran Walia on Tuesday announced the opening of a 750-bed Super Speciality Hospital-cum-Medical College in Dwarka. She made the announcement while inaugurating a dispensary in Mayur Vihar Phase-III. She said the construction of this super speciality hospital-cum-medical college will be completed soon.

Late CRPF officer’s family gets HC relief
New Delhi: Three months after the death of Jayanti Parihar,a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) head constable who had to file a petition after being denied promotion,the Delhi High Court has acknowledged her bravery and directed the force to grant her family the benefits of promotions,due since 1998. Parihar had sustained permanent injuries while on duty in Jammu and Kashmir in 2001. A Bench headed Justice Pradeep Nandarajog also imposed a cost of Rs 11,000 on the CRPF for making a “brave lady who was instrumental in averting a major casualty¿ suffer for so long.”

RAW official in judicial custody
Gurgaon: A senior woman official with RAW training centre here was sent to 14 days judicial custody by a district court on Tuesday. The official,Nisha Priya Bhatia,has been booked under Sections 451,323 and 268 of the IPC on the complaint of an IAS officer,the Gurgaon police said. Priya was sent to Bhondsi jail.

New appointments
New Delhi: Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and the Leader of the House in Delhi Assembly nominated Model Town MLA Kanwar Karan Singh as the Chief Whip of the Congress Legislature Party. Singh has replaced Rajinder Nagar MLA Ramakant Goswami,who has been appointed the vice-chairman of Delhi Jal Board. Patel Nagar MLA Rajesh Lilothia has been appointed the Deputy Whip of Congress Legislature Party. Sadar Bazaar MLA Rajesh Jain has been appointed as Secretary,Congress Legislature Party. MLA’s Anil Bhardwaj, Surendra Kumar and Tarwinder Singh Marwah,have been appointed Parliamentary Secretaries to the CM.
