Labourer dies at construction site
A 20-year-old labourer died and another was injured when mud caved in while they were digging to construct the basement of a factory in Mohan Cooperative Industrial Estate in Badarpur. Police said they have arrested the contractor on charges of causing death due to negligence. Ahmed Ullah,20,was a native of West Bengals Malda. Police said the incident occurred around 9.45 am and both Ahmad Ullah and Ashraful Saif,20,the other labourer,were rushed to the AIIMS. The contractor has been arrested said the police.
Parking depot for 2010 Games
In an attempt to increase parking facilities for buses during the Commonwealth Games and lessen road congestion and make traffic smooth,the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) will build a multiple parking depot at the existing Naraina depot as a pilot project. Outlining details of the project,Transport Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely said the multilevel parking depot will be the first of its kind would provide bus parking for about 175 buses. A project consultant will be hired to design the bus depot. The agency has already commissioned the construction of five new bus depots for parking low floor buses that will be added to DTCs bus fleet by March.
2 criminals arrested
Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested two criminals who are involved in over 15 cases of snatching,robbery and theft. Mohd Israel,37,and Harun 30,were caught from Kalindi Kunj on Saturday and the police said that they had recovered two motorcycles,Rs 15,000 cash and a countrymade pistol from them.
