Wanted criminal killed in encounter
A wanted criminal,Zahid Kala alias Zahid Chacha (35),was killed in a joint encounter by the Ghaziabad Police and the Special Operation Group on Wednesday. Police said Kala carried a reward of Rs 1 lakh on his head. Police intercepted Kala,along with his two accomplices,near the Hindon barrage. During the encounter,Kala received bullet injuries and died before he could rushed to the hospital. Two constables also received minor injuries,police said,adding Kala had more than 36 cases of loot and dacoity registered against him.

3 from Rajasthan held with fake gold bricks
New Delhi: Three youths from Rajasthan were arrested on Tuesday for cheating people by selling fake gold bricks. Irfan (23),Ajmal (30) and Raheesh (27) were arrested from near Dhaula Kuan after a decoy customer was sent to them to strike a deal,the police said. “Five fake gold bricks were recovered from them,” a senior police officer said. The three told their customers that the bricks were antique and cost worth Rs 10 lakh in the market,police added.

Don’t refuse jobs to minor offenders: HC
New Deli: A person convicted or charged of minor offences should not be disqualified for government jobs,the Delhi HC said on Wednesday as it restrained the government from declining employment to a youth in the Delhi Police.
