She described the trifurcation of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi as historical, saying smaller municipalities will bring municipal administration to people’s doorstep.

“Formation of three municipalities will go a long way in fulfilling the aspirations of people at the local level. The efficiency and quality of services will improve,” she said.

Referring to implementation of Delhi Right of Citizen to Time Bound Delivery of Services Act,Dikshit said soon the number of services, which will be available under the Act,would cross 100. So far,73 services have been brought under the ambit of the Act.

“The government will not tolerate delay in delivery of services. The officers responsible for delays are being fined regularly. This will go a long way in ensuring satisfactory service to public,” she said.
