In the complex maze of Old Delhi,it is difficult to miss the throbbing energy of Ramzan. This offers a good excuse for a tour back to the past,to the stories about Islam and the importance of the holy month. Itihaas,a Delhi-based organisation, will conduct a walk called Raunak-i-Ramzan that will bring alive these stories on the evening of August 19. The walk will wind through the tomb of queen Raziya Sultana, past Shahjahanabad, where whispers of forgotten intrigues still waft in the breeze, and down the dark bylanes. We will also visit the homes of a few people in Purani Dilli and witness the breaking of the fast,Roza,at the Jama Masjid, says Smita Vats,founder-director of Itihaas, who will conduct the walk. Along the way,you can scout around Meena Bazaar and Chitli Qabar for trinkets. The walk ends at Turkman Gate with a delicious Ramzan feast. The walk will be held on August 19. Time: 6 pm to 9 pm. Price: Rs 1,500. Contact: 9811227359/ 23320547
