Three contract killers,one of whom is allegedly linked to Dawood Ibrahim,were arrested on Friday. They were involved in murder and robbery cases,police said.
The accused have been identified as Mahesh (25),the alleged mastermind who also had links with Dawood,and his associates Vipin (28) and Rakesh (30).
Mahesh had murdered an alleged criminal,Naresh of Bareilly. Three were arrested earlier in cases of murder,attempt to murder,robbery and under the Gangster Act. We have recovered three country made pistols,eight live cartridges and a stolen motorcycle from their possession, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) V Renganathan.
Mahesh is allegedly involved in 10 cases,Vipin in eight and Rakesh in 20 cases.
During interrogation,Mahesh reportedly told the police that he wanted to become a gangster as he was weak in studies and pursued his education only till Class IX. He said he drew inspiration from Dawoods work.
