One boy held,another on the run; they were writing Board exam,say police
A 16-year-old student who had come to write his CBSE Board examination at Mothers International School was stabbed outside the school at 1 pm on Friday by his two classmates after he refused to help them cheat during the exam. Police have apprehended one of the juveniles; the other is on the run.
The victim has been identified as Shahrukh,a resident of Khanpur. The victim and the accused are students of Prince Public School in Mehrauli, said H G S Dhaliwal,DCP (South).
The children took the Hindi exam at Mothers International School,their centre. During the examination,the accused asked Shahrukh to help them with a few questions and show them his answersheet. When he refused to help,the two threatened him, said a senior police officer.
Around 12.30 pm,the children left the classroom and the two accused followed Shahrukh,police added.
The victim and the accused got into an argument,which turned into a scuffle. The accused pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed Shahrukh multiple times in the chest and limbs and fled, police said.
Shahrukh reportedly managed to make a PCR call immediately after he was attacked. He was rushed to the AIIMS Trauma Centre,where he is undergoing surgery. Doctors at the hospital have reportedly told the police that his condition is critical,but stable.
His statement will be recorded when doctors declare him fit, said the officer. The boy was apprehended and sent to the Juvenile Justice Board. We are looking for his friend, said Amulya Patnaik,Jt CP (South).
