Depressed over weight,techie hangs himself

A 24-year-old software engineer allegedly hanged himself in his paying guest accommodation in Kanthamma Narayanaswamy Layout at Panathur near HAL on Wednesday night. K Vamshi Krishna,a native of Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh,was employed with an IT firm in the city. He had come to Bangalore 10 months ago and landed the job a month ago.

His brother K Surya Narayana told the police Krishna was taking ayurvedic medicine to lose weight but with little success. “He was also stressed about work.”

The police said Ramesh,owner of the PG accommodation,went to the room of Krishna around 8 pm after Narayana told him his brother was not answering phone and found him hanging from the ceiling fan by a towel.
