UT agrees in principle to pension scheme for CHB employees

In what could bring cheer to the 500 employees of the construction arm of the UT Administration,Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB),the UT Administration has in principle agreed to the long-pending demand of the employees to implement the pension scheme.

In a meeting held between the top officials of the UT Administration,chaired by the Advisor K K Sharma and attended by the UT Finance Secretary V K Singh and officials of the CHB,it was decided to work out the modalities of the employees pension scheme. For the purpose,officials of the Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) also made a presentation in the meeting.

CHBECC,the employees association,had been doing gate rallies,and agitations for several months for the purpose and had requested the Chairman,CHB to resolve the long pending issue of CHB employees i.e. implementation of pension scheme as per the decision of Board taken in the year 2009 at the earliest.
