Two held for abusing cops

Two persons,who were reportedly in an inebriated state,were arrested in the wee hours on Wednesday after they allegedly misbehaved and used unparliamentary language against Police Control Room staff.

Two persons,who were reportedly in an inebriated state,were arrested in the wee hours on Wednesday after they allegedly misbehaved and used unparliamentary language against Police Control Room staff. The accused also damaged the PCR vehicle.

The incident took place at around 2 pm in the wee hours of Wednesday near the Sector 17 Bus stand. According to the police,two persons approached the PCR near the Sector 17 ISBT began abusing the policemen on duty.

When the PCR vehicle reached the spot,the two accused later identified as Raman and Vikrant Pany,both residents of Sector 33 allegedly started abusing PCR staff. The accused reportedly entered into a scuffle with the constable Birender,who was on duty. The two also allegedly tried to throw a stone at the police personnel. They also allegedly damaged the bonnet of the police gypsy and tried to flee,but were later arrested.

Police have booked the two on charges of voluntarily causing hurt to deter a public servant from discharging his duty.
