Taj Chandigarh rolls in their maiden trunk show with a fascinating potpourri of revival weaves,semi-precious jewellery and more
When it comes to fine artisanal traditions and crafts of India,the citys ethnic-chic shoppers have always had to make do with the annual state-organised exhibitions. Its probably the reason why the maiden Taj Khazana trunk show at the Taj Hotel,Chandigarh had the crowd going ga-ga over it. The two-day event offers quintessential Indian handicrafts,handlooms,and souvenirs culled from boutique stores across the country. Coming to Chandigarh for the first time,the trunk show has rolled in artwork by contemporary Bengal artists,designer apparel,ethnic silver jewellery,silver artefacts,embellished bags,silk ties. The highlight of the event though is the traditional Indian weaves and revival sarees. The revival range includes fabrics like Banarasis,brocade,organza that incorporate age-old designs with zari, mentioned a Taj Khazana spokesperson. Luckily,the price tags will not have you digging too deep. The Tussar silks are priced at Rs 4,000 onwards,the silk tunics at Rs 2,600. One can also choose from designer labels such as Tarun Tahiliani,Sonya Khan,Kiran Uttam Ghosh who have partnered with Taj Khazana for specials.
The trunk show is on till February 21.
