The Rolling Stones

The characteristic symbol of the galloping stallion rests atop its gleaming red leather cover. Encrusted with over a thousand 30-carat diamonds and weighing 37 kgs, this publication is priced at a whopping Rs 1.5 crore. After all,it exudes the luxury of the car it is based on — the Ferrari. After the four-wheel vroom machine arrived in Delhi earlier this year, the limited edition publication that tells its tale was unveiled at the Ferrari showroom in Janpath on Thursday afternoon.

The red leather cover of the Enzo Diamante edition of The Official Ferrari Opus binds together 852 pages of text, but the 2,000 pictures give an insight into the Ferrari story and a glimpse into what goes behind the tall gates of the legendary Ferrari factory in Maranello. While each copy is personally signed by legendary Ferrari drivers like Michael Schumacher and Fernando Alonso,a two-metre long gatefold has images and exclusive interviews with the motor-sport legends that have been part of the Ferrari history. But like the car,the Ferrari book is not easy to acquire either. For,there is just one copy per country and the India edition has already been sold to an undisclosed buyer.
