City’s Mrs Gladrags finalist Dr Neetu Narula on how to strike a successful balance between home,hobbies & a career

It’s perhaps for the first time that she took a break that was over a week and that too away from home. “To give you an exact count it was 40 days away from family and work. Truly a first for me,” smiles Dr Neetu Narula. A city-based radiologist,Narula made it to the finals of the Gladrags Mrs India 2010 contest and is now back home. “It was truly an enriching experience,” admits the pretty lady who is not just a full-time doc,but mother to a seven-year-old son! Interestingly,the decision to enter the contest which took a new reality twist this year was a “last minute thing”. “The family was so supportive that I decided to give it a shot,” says Neetu,who made it to the final five line-up and was among the more popular contestants. “The reality show format took us by surprise and it was quite challenging too,” mentions Narula. This year,contestants like Neetu,were kept in a house and were given different tasks with an aim to allow judges to see the ladies compete in real surroundings and situations. “In the process we learnt a lot and made friends,” says Narula,who has no regrets about not winning the title. “I enjoyed myself and it was great exposure,” she says. In the eyes of her husband,Dr Manpal Narula,she’s already a winner. “She’s done a great job balancing a professional career,family and her hobbies. She’s a good human being and a real person with no facades…she’s a perfect Mrs,” gushes the proud hubby. Quiz the multi-starrer on how she pulls it off and she smiles to say,“I am quite adventurous by nature and I like taking up challenges,” answers Neetu ading how she taught herself to swim and then Salsa too like a pro! “All women are blessed with inner strength to multi-task. It’s on each one of us to make the most of our multiple roles,”
