The ‘Leap’ Year

This weekend,historical serial Chandragupta Maurya,which is currently Imagine’s prime property,will take the generation leap to enter what’s being dubbed as its most interesting phase. The lead character will grow up from being a boy to a grown-up man. The role will now be played by Ashish Sharma,who was a part of Imagine’s Gunaaho Ka Devta. The track will now showcase the journey of Alexandra’s conquest over India,where Chanakya encourages Chandragupta to join Alexandra’s army. His intention is to weaken the army from within,which is a part of Chanakya’s master plan. Sharma says,“This is a challenging role and more so since child artist Rushiraj Powar portrayed the character with such élan that I ought to keep up the standards and take on gracefully from where he has left.” Chandragupta Maurya has already garnered good TRP ratings. The 10-year transition will be ushered in with the death of Chandragupta Maurya’s mother. A tale of the exemplary courage,valour and magnificence of a young man who was destined to a life of servitude until he came into contact with Chanakya,who then rose from being a commoner to one of the greatest kings of ancient India.
