Forget everything else, just follow your dream, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap tells little kids
With him around education takes a different meaning altogether. It becomes more interactive, less frightening, and suddenly, you spot little hands shooting up with enthusiasm. There are questions which means theres an interest which further translates into a mind thats started to thinking. Make that out of the box, filmmaker, writer and producer Anurag Kashyap is quick to put children at Dikshant International School at ease. We must do what we are happy doing and work hard to achieve what we want to do, says the man who has always followed his heart, something which he wishes everyone has the guts to. When I realised that I wanted to make films,my father gave me 5,000 bucks and wished me all the best. It was 1991,and there I was in Mumbai, struggling, scraping to make ends meet, sleeping on the streets and using 5-star hotel washrooms! Kashyap recounts the hard life,a prelude to his success. Thats because I chose to follow my dream. You have to ignore peer pressure or parental obligations,it is important to do what you want, he adds. On filmmaking as a career,Kashyap feels that all it needs is an open mind, one thats creative and receptive, and a mobile to capture the composition! You dont need any courses or degrees…life is your school of learning!
Further, topical questions revolving around Raj Thackeray made Anurag react fast: Well, his activities keep him in news and thats his job,his existence. I personally hate interference of any such kind .
The discussion also had N.K.Tewari,Director -The Scindia School Gwalior. Mitul Dikshit,Director of the school added,It was a great opportunity for all of us to have Anurag and Tewari speak to the children and answer all our queries.
