Syndicate meeting postponed

The Panjab University Syndicate meeting scheduled for Sunday has been postponed.

The Panjab University Syndicate meeting scheduled for Sunday has been postponed.

Officials from the university claim that the meeting has been deferred as the Board of Finance meeting has been scheduled for Monday and all the agenda items discussed and passed in this meeting would be included in the Syndicate meeting later.

Another important item on the agenda is about reducing the examination fee charged from students. The issue has been proposed by Dr A C Vaid, principal of SD College,Sector 32.

In his proposal to Panjab University,he had mentioned that a huge amount of money is being charged as examination fee which burdens a student.

He said that since a student has managed to secure admission,he/she will have to sit for the exam so charging exorbitant fees is debatable.

The proposal will be discussed in the Syndicate meeting where a final call would be taken.

Meanwhile, the Student Council has decided to go on strike if the plan of teachers’ evaluation is not brought to the table at the Syndicate meeting for discussion.
