DMW Patiala won the 16th Baba Farid Gold Cup Basketball Tournament at Faridkot held from September 21 to 23.

DMW win basketball title

: DMW Patiala won the 16th Baba Farid Gold Cup Basketball Tournament at Faridkot held from September 21 to 23. The DMW team defeated Faridkot team 123-93 to bag the trophy in the finals. DMW’s Gagandeep Singh was adjudged the best player of the tournament,as he scored 44 points in the finals. Earlier,DMW defeated Barnala Police team 106-81 in the semi-final,while the Faridkot team defeated Bathinda to reach the final. Atleast ten teams from all over participated in the tournament.

Martial Art meet on the anvil

: Panchkula District School Education Department will organise the Under-19 Girls/Boys Inter School Choi Kwang Do Competition on October 28 at CKD Martial Art School,SCO-193,2nd Floor,Sector 16,Panchkula. Students from different schools of Panchkula District will participate in the event.The competition event will be pattern,speed drill,defense drill and air shield drill.

Jimmy scores in Indian U-14 team win

: Chandigarh lad Jimmy Singh scored a goal in his team’s 7-2 win over IMG Under-14 team in a training match at Florida,USA. Uttam Rai was the chief scorer for the Indian Under-14 team as he netted a brilliant hat-trick. Allan Deory hit a brace,while Lamunana and Jimmy found the back of the net once.

GNPS & CCA-36 wins
*Chandigarh
: Despite Honey’s superb spell (6 for 28),BTS Cricket Academy-48 lost to GNPS & CCA-36 by two wickets during CCA CUP Cricket Tournament for U-14 organised by CCA in Sector 48 on Sunday. After winning the toss GNPS & CCA-36 elected to bowl first and skittled out the opposition at 73 in 37 overs.Vineet and Shubham were the pick of the bowlers claiming three wickets each. In reply,GNPS & CCA-36 got to the total in 28.4 overs.
