Durga,who hails from village Jhalliyan Kalan and is at present residing at Cham Kaur Sahib (Ropar),where is he running his musical band,is a huge fan of live music. “Forget the Internet or any other format,nothing stands in comparison to live music,” says the singer who sticks to his traditional touch that speaks of his powerful rustic voice and a band that’s complete with vocalist and dhol wala. “It’s difficult for younger audiences to relate to songs in chaste Punjabi or dance to a traditional tune,so I make it a point to improvise on stage and interact with the audience by explaining the verses in between the music,” tells Durga,who has rendered playback for films like Shaheed Udhan Singh,Laali and Rustom-e-Hind. So,is Bollywood on the cards? “Always been a dream and desire,let’s see,” he prays again.
