Can you imagine glam babe Neha Dhupia 30 years from now? Showcasing the future with her special effects has been international makeup artist Yasmin Rogers who recently aged the Bollywood actor for an international film. “Makeup in the world of films isn’t just about making an actor look pretty or handsome,” quipped Rodgers who was in town for a wedding do. Having trained initially under Sylvie and Ambika Pillai,Rodgers went to London for a year and specialized in high fashion and special effects make-up under Hollywood veteran Walter Schneiderman. “On my return I did a lot of fashion shows, then progressed to advertising and international films,” updates Yasmin who just completed a Russian film. “Since I specialise in special effects,my work involves making actors look young or old and a lot of character makeup. I am glad that films like Paa are highlighting the hard work put in by makeup artists,” points out Yasmin who has given actor Zayed Khan an all-new ‘hat ke’ look for his forthcoming film ‘Sharafat Gaye Tel Lene’. Of the current crop of actresses,Yasmin finds Bipasha Basu’s makeup skills exemplary. “After Rekha, she’s the other actress who likes to do her own makeup,” says Yasmin. Speaking of trends, she says natural look is in. “Ironically,a lot of makeup goes into giving the natural look,” she laughs, mentioning how actors today are extremely conscious of their looks and men love makeup equally! We’ll take her word for that.
