From trend books that suggest looks to order-from-home jewellery catalogue, the retail market is flipping new pages
Till sometime back, the best way to do it was to pick up your shopping bags, scout around stores before settling in for a purchase. All along, you went either by instinct or by what the fashion meter was indicating when it came to choosing your pick. Sometimes you were also generously helped by a friend or a relative-other to zero in on your buy. But ‘look’ how things change! If the next time you are grappling for a theme for your home, step in at any of the Rosebys stores around town and pick up their all-new trend book that’s recently hit the shelves. From cover to back, the book holds in the season’s themes, the colour palettes and of course the best way to pair it all! “Today, the number of house-proud Indians is fast on the rise. These are young owners of homes who want to do up homes stylishy but in their own way. That’s where we offer help,” mentions Nikhil Sen,director of Rosebys as we flip through the trend book which presents four themes like Eco chic,Peony flowers,Retro,Indulgence in a glossy-centrespread way! “Until now,the only place you probably saw a thematic display of products was in a home decor magazine. But now you can walk in any of our stores and be assisted by a trend book, which is a norm internationally,” pitches in Nikhil’s better half Payal Sen as she goes on to add,”The trend book is an attempt to bring out the ethos and the inspiration clubbed with the true flavour that goes into creating Rosebys.”
Elsewhere, jewellery designer Asha Kamal Modi who has been bringing her brand Art Karat via exhibitions to the city now offers for the first time her shop-at-home jewellery catalogue. “We first launched our shopping catalogue in the USA for our overseas clientele. It’s only now that we are rolling out an Indian edition,” explains Modi as she offers us a copy. Instead of just product photos, the well put together magazine packs between its covers photoshoots that actually depict how the jewellery would look worn. “We realised that some times shoppers missed exhibition dates or wanted to buy jewellery when we weren’t exhibiting. By offering them a catalogue, they can order jewellery anytime from home,” the designer smiles to say. Now that’s anew read!
