It was an evening of raising cheer, quite literally.

It was an evening of raising cheer, quite literally. This weekend saw Smoke House Deli, the all-day cafe and delicatessen in Sector 7,Chandigarh,co-host a session on single malt tasting,in association with the Chandigarh Single Malt Club. As the name suggests, the event was all about appreciating single malt whiskies paired well with a specially put together cuisine to match. Rohan Jelkie from Tulleeho,a company that provides beverage education and training services, conducted the evening’s session which saw Chandigarh’s swish set turn up to swirl, swig and savour their favourite single malts ranging from Isle of Jura 10 Years,Isle of Jura 16 Years,Isle of Jura Superstition and Dalmore 12 Years. The chefs at Smoke House Deli dished out a cold counter with marinated olives, artichokes, assorted cheese and cold cuts. Signature snacks such as curried vegetable skewers, paprika puffs, wasabi salsa, lamb kibbeh, roast chicken and mushroom pizza did the rounds. Jelki also dished out information on the art of whisky brewing and palate-pointers for the attendees. Among those who were noticed having a good time included well-known jeweller Anil Talwar with wife Neena,city-based architect Ajay Johl, golfing buddies Birinder Singh Gill,Lt Col (retd) K S Thandi and Gagan Dhamija from United Spirits.
