SGGS-26 blanks GC-11

It rained goals at Panjab University campus grounds on Monday which swept Government College,Sector 11,off its feet after they were humbled by SGGS College,Sector 26,in a one-sided affair by 15-0 in the Panjab University Inter-College Hockey (men)-A- Division tournament. Ranbir and Rupinder led the goal-feast with superb hat-tricks. In another match,LLR Government College,Dhudike thrashed PU Campus,Chandigarh,7-1. Amandeep scored a brace. Meanwhile,GN College,Narangwal,outclassed MGKMSSPF,Jhakroudi,3-0 in the final to claim the Panjab University Hockey (men) B-Division Championship. In a league match of the Panjab University Inter-College Kabaddi (National Style) A-Division (men) tournament played at the PU Gymnasium Hall,SGGS College,Chandigarh,recorded an easy 40-13 win over RSD College,Ferozepur,while Government College,Muktsar defeated Government College-46,Chandigarh,51-26.

Table Soccer Open Master Series from Nov 20
The Table Soccer Federation of India will organise India Open Master Series International Table Soccer Tournament from November 20 to 22 at Manav Mangal Smart School in Phase-10 Mohali. Teams from countries like England,Germany,France,Italy,Belgium Dubai,China,South Africa,Nepal,Malaysia,Thailand,Korea etc are going to participate in the tournament. Volker Groschl from Germany would be the Tournament Director for the said tournament. Raveet Singh Bittu (MP) will preside over opening ceremony while Pawan Kumar Bansal,Cabinet Minister,Parliamentary Affairs and Water Resources,will be the chief guest during the closing ceremony. According to Harmohinder Singh Lucky,Tournament Organiser and Vice-Chairman TSFI,keeping in mind their performances in the championship,players in the men’s and women’s category will be selected World Cup 2010 which will held in France (Nantes) from January 6 to 10 next year.
