Second innings

When your debut film,Mast, released in 2000,you were the next-big-thng in the industry. How did it all change? I would say that the best phase of my career is yet to come and that the post Mast phase was a good phase, but not the ultimate high.

I would say that the best phase of my career is yet to come and that the post Mast phase was a good phase, but not the ultimate high. Everyone in the industry goes through such phases. And I think filmmakers still respect me as an actor. I agree I have made a few wrong choices, done some movies I should not have. But please remember it only takes a hit to turn that around.

You turn producer with Aao Wish Karein.
When I came across this story,I loved it so much that I wanted to make it my way. I was too greedy to do it and do it with my vision,so I decided to produce it. But I’m enjoying it to the hilt since I am done with my part as an actor. Now I’m busy marketing this film, managing the promotions and handling everything at the micro level. I totally sympathise with producers now.

Who is your fairy?
No one in particular. Maybe the cast and crew of my film.

And Aamna Sharif?
Yes,I could say she too is one of my fairies. She has also been a part of this dream and this project and has worked very hard for its success.

How do you make a wish?
I know people who do the most bizarre things, including cutting an eyelash to make a wish and blowing it. But I simply look up at the sky,the sun or the moon and make my wish.
