So,as he took the crease while batting second,he wanted to finish the game as quickly as possible,without stretching it to the last over.
As a result,his hurricane knock of 87 off 41 balls ensured Haryana Bulls an easy nine-wicket win over Punjab Warriors during the inaugural match of the Premier Cricket League played at Tau Devi Lal cricket stadium in Sector 6 on Sunday.
Earlier,Punjab Warriors decided to bat first after winning the toss and mustered 149 for the loss of three wickets. Bulk of the scoring was done by Harkrishan Kali who top scored with 66 off 43 balls. Anshul Lamba also came up with an entertaining knock of 48 off 41 balls for the Punjab team.
Chasing the total,Haryana Bulls were bolstered by a blistering innings of 87 by Gurinder. Agnesh Surya also chipped in with a useful knock of 56 off 50 balls to help the team win. They made 150 for 1 in 17.4 overs. Ajay Bhardwaj took two wickets for 41 runs.
Meanwhile,in another match of the day,Chennai Champions beat Hyderabad Hawks by 28 runs. Chennai Champions batted first and amassed 138 for 8 in 17 overs.
Ankush Dhaliwal (22 off 15 balls) and Rajesh (21 off 10 balls) were the major contributor for the Chennai team. Regan Anthony bowled a tidy length and line to pick up four wickets for 34 runs.
In reply,Hyderabad Hawks were bundled out for 110 in 16.5 overs. Regan Anthony once again came up with a noteworthy contribution as he top scored for the team with run-a-ball 36 runs.
Neeraj Sharma bagged three wickets for 24 runs,while Rakesh Katoch and N Sanai picked up two wickets each.
