The inter probe committee constituted by the Chandigarh Golf Club,following a brawl involving a sitting Congress MLA and a retired army officer,will be submitting their report within this week. The investigation by the police however is at a standstill.

Talking to Newsline,Lieutenant General K S Maan said,“We have almost concluded our findings in the incident which took place on February 16. We will be submitting the inquiry report within this week.”

“However,the final action will be taken by the CGC officials or the general house,” Lieutenant General Maan further added.

Colonel JS Randhawa,the executive secretary of the CGC said,“I cannot comment on this issue yet as we have yet not received any report from the probe panel”.

Meanwhile,the police officials are yet to make any further development in the inquiry which is being carried out by the police officials.

According to the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) East,Vijay Kumar,“The inquiry has been marked to the SHO but nothing substantial has been found yet. It is a lengthy process to find out what actually happened. We are looking for those persons who were witnesses to the entire brawl”.

A cross case was registered in the Police Station Sector 26 on charges of criminal intimidation (506 of the IPC) and voluntarily causing hurt (323 of IPC)

The accused in the matter,Randeep Singh Nabha,the sitting Congress MLA from Nabha,former golf course captain SS Lehal Lt Colonel (Retd) Vijay Singh Sandhu and the internationally renowned athlete Milka Singh.

Talks on about fees

The UT Administration on Thursday informed the Punjab and Haryana High Court that talks are on with the arbitrator and the final decision will soon be conveyed to the High Court regarding petition filed by the Chandigarh Golf Club (CGC) against the enhanced lease amount sought by the Chandigarh Administration to the Punjab and Haryana High Court. The court had asked the authorities to pay Rs 20 lakhs to the administration on January 30. The case has been listed for the next hearing on May 1 this year.
