Rains reduce temperature

Past few days rainfall has ensured that the day temperature has stayed below normal,but there seems to be no respite from humidity. The maximum temperature recorded today was 2 degrees below normal but maximum humidity has gone up to 90 per cent. The city has recorded more than 19 mm rainfall in the past two days. The rainfall,however,has not been consistent throughout the city. After the onset of monsoon on June 25,the city witnessed a relatively dry spell. It is only in the past few days that the rain has hit the city. The Met Department has predicted more rain on Monday as well. The temperature is expected to stay around 32 degrees.
