Maintaining his scoring spree,Diwakar Singh scored his second goal in as many matches for Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) ‘A’ to help his team rout Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) 3-0 in a one-sided affair during the second day of the 28th PSEB Inter-Unit Hockey Tournament played at Sector 42 Hockey Stadium on Friday.
ONCG opened the lead in the third minute when Diwakar sounded the board through a neatly taken penalty corner. Bolstered by the strike,the team made several attacks but they could not double the lead in the first half. After changing the sides,ONGC managed to double the lead through Dharmender who found the back of the board in the 50th minute. Six minutes later,Harman Singh gave the lead an unassailable lead of 3-0.
Meanwhile,in another match of the day,Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) outplayed Indian Oil Corporation 3-1 to register a facile win. Amar Ayyappa opened the account for the winning team in the 22nd minute. Then Jarnail Singh doubled the lead when he scored in the 57th minute. Ravipal made it 3-0 after scoring in the 57th minute. IOC managed to pull back one through Roshan Minz in the 68th minute.
