On the orders of Cabinet Minister Anmol Gagan Mann, a case has been registered against Udham Singh, posted at Sadar Kharar police station, for demanding bribe.
Sources said policeman Udham Singh demanded bribe from Paramjit Singh, a resident of Khijrabad village. Paramjit made a video in this regard and made it viral.
The viral video came to the notice of Kharar MLA and Cabinet Minister Anmol Gagan Maan. She ordered Senior Superintendent of Police to take immediate action in this regard.
Acting on that, an FIR was filed against Udham Singh at Sadar Kharar Police Station and he was suspended from government service.
The minister said that bribery will not be tolerated and the Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is committed to providing corruption-free governance to the people of the state.
She said that in order to stop corruption, the Punjab government has issued WhatsApp number 95012 00200 on which people can also register their complaints regarding corruption.
