No watering of lawns in morning: MC

The Municipal Corporation has banned watering of lawns and washing of courtyards and vehicles in the morning with effect from April 15.

While a notice will be served on the first-time violators,a fine of Rs 500 will be imposed if anybody is caught committing the offence for the second time. The amount will be recovered through regular water bills and the booster pumps and hose pipes being used by the defaulter will be confiscated.

If caught a third time,water connection will be immediately disconnected without any further notice.

The MC order said wastage or misuse of water due to overflow from over head or underground water tanks,leakage from water meter chambers,leakage in pipeline from ferrule to water meter,leakage and overflow from desert coolers and installation and use of booster pump on the direct water supply line would invite action too.
