Playing a superb game,Ankur Nanda stormed into the quarter-final stage with a narrow 3-2 win over Gaurav Bharti in the senior snooker category in the Haryana Billiards and Snooker Championship being played at Panchkula. Gaurav Bharti started the match on an aggressive note and made breaks of 39 and 38 points in the first two frames to claim the first two frames of the match. Nanda then regrouped his energies and won the next two frames to level the score at 2-2. Nanda then hit a break of 31 points in the final frame to claim the match with a margin of 3-2. In another match in the same category,Chirag of Kurukshetra scored a 3-1 win over Rahul Sharma. Chirag claimed the first frame easily before losing the third frame. Chirag then claimed the fourth and final frame to win the match.
In senior billiards,Anil Sharma and Ashok Sharma reched the semi-final stage with wins over Pradeep Kinger and Karan Dhir respectively. Anil Sharma had a tough time beating Pradeep Kinger with a 2-0 margin. Sharma claimed the first frame with a margin of 150-142 before claiming the second frame with a margin of 150-148. Ashok Sharma scored an easy 2-0 win over Karan Dhir in an one-sided encounter.
