Shooting incidents continue to rock Mohali, posh society becomes latest target

Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Lakwinder Kaur who was the duty officer said that they found three bullet shells from the spot and checking the CCTV cameras in the area. She added that the assailants fled from the spot.

On the identity of the assailants, Kaur said that the complainants identified the culprits as Chan Sohi, Peeta alias Mantri, Parambir Singh Dhaliwal and Jaspreet Singh Sethi. She added that the culprits live in Homeland Society.

Mohali Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sandeep Garg said that the incident had happened due to the personal enmity and they would soon arrest the culprits.

When asked about the reason of the enmity, the SSP said in the past there were fights happened between both the parties. He added that an attempt to murder case was registered at Mattaur police station.

Question mark over law and order

This is the second firing incident on busy airport road. Last week, a Jammu-based criminal Rajesh Dogra was shot dead outside a shopping mall in Sector 67.

Last month, on the intervening night of February 26/27, three men had fired bullets at a restaurant. All the accused were arrested but the firing was carried out for demanding extortion.
