Mohali residents launch War Against Drug Abuse

A group of Mohali residents have launched “War Against Drug Abuse” to fight against the increasing social evil of drug abuse,especially amongst the youngsters,in the city.

A group of Mohali residents have launched “War Against Drug Abuse” (WADA) to fight against the increasing social evil of drug abuse,especially amongst the youngsters,in the city. A brainchild of former Municipal Council Senior Vice-President and senior Youth Akali leader Harman Preet Singh Prince,the NGO will fight against the chemists and drug peddlers for indulging in illegal sale of intoxicant and habit-forming drugs to the customers,especially youths,without proper prescription from the registered medical practitioner.

Under the patronage of Mohali SSP Gurpreet Singh Bhullar and District Planning Committee Chairman NK Sharma,the WADA will have three separate panels of expert doctors,advocates and educationists to spread awareness among the young generation about the ill-effects of the drugs and check the menace of drug abuse through medical,legal and educational methods.
