The Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh was shaken by mild intensity tremors at 6:23 pm on Saturday. The quake was measured 2.3 on the Richter scale,the meteorological department office said here on Sunday.
The epicentre was at latitude 32.8 degrees north and longitude 76.0 degrees east in Jammu and Kashmir. There is no report of loss of life and property, Met Director Manmohan Singh said.
The tremors were felt for a few seconds in the entire district.
In 2009,an earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale had rocked Chamba,with its epicentre in Holi and Bharmour region of the district.
