Raising a toast to the Margarita — a classic Mexican cocktail — Chilis Bar and Grill housed in Elante Mall hosted a Margarita mixology and tasting session on Friday. With an aim to showcase the various ways the popular Mexican drink can be given a twist,mixologist Vishal Kumar — a specialist in cocktails and flair bartending — showcased various recipes. “Margarita is essentially a tequila-based cocktail. Other important ingredients are Cointreau liqueur and any other alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage. The thumb rule is that there should be a mixing of at least three alcoholic beverages with tequila being the base,” said Kumar. The restaurant houses a Margarita Bar and Kumar showcased the recipe of Presidente Margarita,a new arrival on the menu. “Margarita can be served in three ways — on the rocks,frozen and straight up,” said Kumar. Chilis has also reworked the menu to bring in the likes of Baha fish tacos and parmesan crusted cottage cheese quesadillas.
