Man held for ‘harassing’ pregnant woman

The Chandigarh police arrested a resident of Sector 39 for allegedly eve-teasing a pregnant lady on Tuesday evening. The accused,Anil Kumar,was in an inebriated state,they said,adding,he tried to outrage her modesty in a park in Sector 39-D. When the victim’s sister-in-law,who was also present,confronted the accused,he allegedly slapped her. An eyewitness immediately called the control room. A case has been registered against Kumar for voluntarily causing hurt,wrongful restraint and assault with intent to outrage the modesty of a woman,at Sector 39 police station.
