Hooda orders inquiry in scribe assault case

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has ordered an inquiry into the case in which a journalist of a national Hindi daily journalist was allegedly thrashed by two persons in his office in Sonepat.

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has ordered an inquiry into the case in which a journalist of a national Hindi daily journalist was allegedly thrashed by two persons in his office in Sonepat. Rajiv Dutt Pandey,Bureau Chief (Sonepat),Dainik Bhaskar,was assaulted by two persons when he was in his office on May 17. The two accused,identified as Sukhbir of Shahzadpur village and Virender of Adarsh Nagar,Sonepat,were arrested and a case registered against them,but later they were let off by the police. A delegation of Sonepat Press Club had called on Hooda at Haryana Bhavan in New Delhi last evening and apprised him about the incident. Rohtak MP Deepender Hooda has also condemned the incident and asked the Sonepat district administration to take steps to prevent such incidents in future. Yesterday,the journalists in Sonepat had taken out a protest march condemning the police’s role in the incident.
