Heated discussion among Senators,V-C apologises to Prof Kohli

I S Sandhu questioned asked about how the DAV management can have double standards. He said that a few days ago when one of the Geography teachers Simrat Khalon of DAV College Sector 10 got a job in the PU,the management failed to give her a five-year leave without pay.

Following this,principal,DAV College Sector 10,B C Josan and I S Sandhu indulged in a verbal spat. Later,members of the Senate intervened and brought the situation under control.

However,senior senator G K Chatrath referring to Chapter ii A (1) of PU calendar volume -I said that proposal can be mooted on the floor of the House,saying,“I am shocked how some can oppose this when calender permits it”.

After taking stock of the situation,the V-C Prof Arun Kumar Grover said that he apologises to Prof Kohli that in his presences the members indulged into heated discussion.

He said,“I will bring the issue in Syndicate and reject the proposal. I do not want to dishonour Prof Kohli who is an eminent researcher and the only scientist of PU having J C Bose fellowship.”

Senator D P S Randhawa asked the V-C that he let those who opposed the proposal explain under which rules of PU calendar they did it.
