With competition getting tougher each passing day,Harkiran Nain of Tagore House made sure the tradition of establishing records continued with a new school record of 7.86 metre jump in the shotput event in girls’ Under-19 category during the fifth day of the Annual Athletic Meet at Yadavindra Public School on Friday. She also won the girls’ Under-19 high jump event to complete a grand double.
Similarly,Jigisha Dosanjh of Nalagarh created a new record in girl’s Under-14 200 metre race by completing the race in just 0.30.65 seconds. She also went to on to create a new record of 3.66 metre in girls’ Under-14 broad jump. Meanwhile,it was Jasmine of Nalagarh with her record of 0.34.9 second in girls’ Under-12 200 meter race. Nalagarh House also created a new record of 5.54.87 minute in girls’ Under-12 4X400 meter relay.
Meanwhile,Tanuj Thakur of Aitchison House made sure that he was well on course for a title as he raced to glory in the 800 metre race in the boys’ Under-19 category by taking 2.31.49 minutes. In the boys’ Under-19 triple jump event,Taramdeep Singh of Patiala House cornered glory with a jump of 10.96 meter.
Golf Programme from March 2
The Strawberry Fields School Golf Programmein in collaboration with Chandigarh Golf Club and Golf Plus Magazine will re-start from March 2 at the school premises. This school programme was shut for two months due to the construction of a new practice chipping green. According to Ajay Gujral,coach,the new green will help in a better learning and playing experience at the introductory level for students of classes 2 – 8. The programme will be conducted twice a week on every Monday and Tuesday from 4- 5pm. Enrollments are currently on at the school office.
