To solve a peculiar problem of plenty,the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has decided to conduct written test of all the eligible candidates for the posts of District Managers.
For the six posts advertised in March,over 2,000 candidates had applied and most of them were PhD,MBA,MBE and postgraduates in other streams.
Finding it difficult to reject majority of the applicants,who were possessing much more higher qualifications than the basic requirement of postgraduate in any stream,the PSEB will conduct an hour long objective type written test to select 6 most eligible candidates,PSEB Chairman Dr Dalbir Singh Dhillon disclosed here today.
It will be for the first time in the history of the Board that such a written test will be conducted for selection of staffers whereas so far,the PSEB used to select the employees after conducting a routine interview.
Dr Dhillon informed that the test will be conducted in Mohali on June 12 and the result of it will be posted on the Board’s official website http://www.pseb.ac.in on next day.
The syllabus and scheme of the test,which will be conducted by C-DAC,besides venue has also been posted on the PSEB website this evening.
For the regular Class I officer grade posts at a pay scale of Rs 10,300-34,800+5,000+600,most of the applicants are also possessing experience in administrative and managerial positions,which is otherwise not required to be eligible for the post.
