Fiza arrested for spat with neighbour,freed after seven hours in custody

However,Fiza has accused the police of ‘harassing’ her and acting with “bias” at Chander Mohan’s behest. “No action has been taken against Phoolia despite my numerous complaints but I am being implicated in false cases,” she claimed.

Confirming the development,Phase XI SHO Inspector Harbir Singh told Newsline that on the complaint of Phoolia,who had accused Fiza of disturbing his peace by throwing paint and tarcoal in his courtyard,a police party had gone to the spot to verify the complaint this morning. “As both the parties were called to put forth their viewpoint,Fiza turned aggressive and refused to relent despite repeated warnings,following which she was taken into preventive custody at around 9.30 am to avoid any possible threat to the law and order situation,” disclosed SHO.

After keeping her behind bars for several hours,the cops produced Fiza before the court of Mohali SDM Amit Talwar,who ordered her release after furnishing a surety bond of Rs 20,000,at around 4.30 pm. The SHO divulged that since it was a second case of similar nature against Fiza,the SDM took undertaking from her not to repeat such offence in future otherwise her surety bonds furnished twice could be cancelled or she could be sent to jail as per the law provisions.

Earlier,on the night of October 17 Fiza was arrested in a similar case and after spending night in police custody,she was released on bail the next morning.

Putting forth her version,Fiza said,“A few days ago too,she had made a complaint of misbehaviour against Phoolia but no action was taken by the police. Today also,when I came back from police custody,his family abused me.” She further claimed that there was no evidence to corroborate the allegations leveled by Phoolia against her despite the fact that he had installed a CCTV.

However,the police officials and Phoolia have categorically denied the charges.
