Senior BJP leader Gyan Chand Gupta filed his nomination papers from the Panchkula constituency at the SDM office in Sector 1,Panchkula,on Tuesday. His wife,Bimla Devi,is the covering candidate.
This was the first nomination filed in Panchkula since the process began on September 18. The last date for filing of nominations is September 25.
Detailing the list of assets disclosed by Gupta in his nominations,BJP leader Varinder Garg said: He owns total assets worth Rs 5 crore while his wife owns assets worth Rs 2 crore.
As hundreds of party supporters thronged the roads raising slogans of victory in the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections,commuters paid the price.
It was total chaos as the party workers,in over sixty vehicles,took out a rally in the city. I had to urgently reach hospital but was delayed by 25 minutes, said Mohit Kumar,a resident of Sector 12.
The administration should be alert to such situations so that the traffic cops can be deployed and commuters do not suffer, he added.
According to sources,Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) candidate for Panchkula,Yograj Singh will file his nominations on Wednesday.
7 file nominations in Ambala City,Cantt and Naraingarh
Ambala: Seven candidates filed their nomination papers from the three constituencies of Ambala Cantonment,Ambala City and Naraingarh on Tuesday. Barring Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) candidate Bhum Singh Rana from Naraingarh,all others were Independent candidates.
