Arpana,a charitable organisation,is back with its three-day annual exhibition,Stitches of Love,at Hotel Aroma,Sector 22. To be held till February 20,the exhibition comprises a range of hand-embroidered household linen,babywear and ladies nightwear. One can choose from lacy bedspreads in light pastel shades with fine embroidery in floral patterns,tablecloths,snack tray sets and natty towel holders. The cutesy cotton frocks for little girls (one to four year olds) in summer colours,are adorned with delicate embroidery and ribbon work. Priced Rs 150 onwards,the products have been designed by 5,000 rural women,in 13 village centres near Madhuban in Karnal,who were provided training in hand embroidery by the NGO. The income generation programme is beneficial for the women and their families and all proceeds from the sales at the exhibition will go to charity.
