From designer ensembles to eco-friendly products,the Vanity Fair shop fest has it all
Vanity Fair,the city’s eagerly anticipated one-stop-shop event is set to roll out on March 13 and 14. In its tenth year,the annual spring celebration promises to pack in an amazing variety of products to pamper discerning customers.
“In the last 10 years,we have grown from hosting a handful of exhibitors to over a hundred now. This year,we decided to invite new names,” says city-based restauranteur Priya Jagat,who organises the annual splurge and shop affair. The fair,hosted on the sprawling lawns of Jagat’s country resort Whispering Willows in Zirakpur,showcases a wide range of products from designer labels to home accessories,furniture,linen,pottery,jewellery,clothes,trinkets and more.
Earthly Creations and Think Cutiful will be exhibiting in Chandigarh for the first time. As far as designer ensembles go,the new labels will include Amrita Rana Singh from Jaipur,Delhi’s Miraya,Ffluid Designs by Shital Jhaveri and Rebecca ‘N’ Binita from Mumbai,Kiran Khanna & Divya Seth from Delhi and Arishi by Aparna Patel from Ahmedabad. Botox India will also be putting up a stall at the fair this time,as will Marine Dreams with their made-to-order aquariums,Magnolia Lifestyle with oil paintings from Bali and Delhi’s April Cornell with nature-inspired linen. “More than just a shopping destination,the Fair has become an all-day event for the family. The children have fun while our food courts by the pool dish out wood-fired pizzas and beer,” says Jagat. Keeping the kids busy will be Ludhiana’s Fun Club,hosting story telling sessions and teaching papercraft and origami.
“Last year,we started a new initiative called The Haat where NGOs got to sell eco-friendly products. We have extended the format this year,” says Jagat. Organisations like Choti Si Aasha,CRFTTX with Village Art,Green Somethings from Delhi will get to display their wares. “We also have Besten & Co with their stone furniture,Sattva’s organic products along with Farm Essentials’ organic cosmetics,” she sums up.
