Easy win for Prashanta

Down by one set,qualifier Victoria Chahal of Haryana rallied to end the challenge of wild card entrant Charvi Sexsena of Chandigarh 2-6,6-3,6-3 in the girls’ under-18 singles match. Chahal lost the first set with a margin of 2-6 before regaining her momentum in the match. Chahal them claimed the second set with a margin of 6-3 before claiming the third and final set with the same margin.

Seventh seed and qualifier Bhuvana of Andhra Pradesh got the better of Shreya Pasricha of Delhi 6-4,1-6,6-1 in another exciting girls’ under-18 first-round singles match. Bhuvna claimed the first set with a margin of 6-4 before losing the second set with a margin of 1-6. Bhuvna then claimed the third and final set with a margin of 6-1 to move into the second round.

Second seed Ravnoor Kaur of Chandigarh blanked Disha Dang of Delhi 6-0,6-0 while top seed Mehak Singh,also of Chandigarh ousted Hasan Dhanoa of Punjab 6-0,6-1.
