The Rose Festival in Panchkula makes way for the Spring Fest. Heres a to do-list for the gardeners. For one,do not display dyed specimens of flowers. Always use a stable vase for a display of heavy-headed blooms like dahlia, roses, stock etc. At the last minute,do not shift the flowering annuals into pots. The judges can see through it and you lose both the prize and specimen, which usually wilts. Give ample space between two specimens and do not display insect-infested or diseased specimens at the show.
I had sown bhindi seeds, but the germination was less. As I plan to repeat the sowing, what precautions can I take?
Sukhchain Singh,Chandigarh
You missed dipping the seeds overnight in lukewarm water before sowing. Do it this time and you will get better germination. Also, since the weather is now warmer, there is a chance of better germination.
