The roses are pruned in the month of October and the first dose of manure and fertiliser is also added then. The best time to plant roses is during winter months.
There are many insects with orange and black spots on their back,in my garden. My friend advised me not to spray them. What insect could this be and is it harmful? If so,please suggest a remedy.

Your description of the insect is accurate. It is a lady bird beetle and is friendly. It kills aphids. So your friend is right.
