Double crown for Mohammad Talib,Farheen wins women’s singles title

Mohammad Talib showed why he is one of the best known talent in the city as he clinched both the men and boys’ singles titles in the 23rd Chandigarh State Carrom Tournament held at St Stephen’s School in Sector 45 on Monday. Farheen,on the other hand,emerged victorious to walk away with the women’s singles title.

Mohammad Talib of St Stephen’s School humbled Neeraj Bharti 25-00,25-09 in the final to win the men’s title. He then grabbed his second title of the day by beating Mohammad Arish 25-00,16-09 in the boys’ singles final. Farheen,of National School,claimed the women’s singles title by beating her younger sister Tuba 00-15,15-13,14-13 in a hard-fought final encounter.
