An all-round performance by Ajil Chabra (43 runs and four wickets) propelled DAV School,Sector 8 to an emphatic 130-run win over Bhavan Vidyalaya School,Sector 22 in a pre-quarterfinal match of the Cremica Cup being played in Chandigarh on Saturday. DAV public School won the toss and elected to bat first. Batting first,they posted a total of 195 for the loss of five wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Prashant Chopra was the highest scorer playing a knock of 59 runs. His knock was studded with six boundaries and two towering sixes. Ajil Chabra was the second highest scorer with a superb knock of 43 runs. He smashed four boundaries and one towering six. In reply,Bhavan Vidyalaya were bundled out for a paltry total of 65 runs in 19.5 overs. Chetan was the highest scorer for the team playing a knock of 22 runs. For the winning tean,Ajil claimed four wickets. In the second match of the day,Ryan International School claimed a narrow win through bowl-out over St John's High School,Sector 26. Both the teams were tied at the end of their respective innings. Batting first,St John's High School posted a total of 111 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Ryan International School could also manage a total of 111 runs in 19.5 overs and the match was decided on bowl-out.
