DAV college presidents assailants booked for attempt to murder

The police today registered a case of attempt to murder against all the accused in the attack on Hardeep Singh,president of DAV College,Sector 10.

The police today registered a case of attempt to murder against all the accused in the attack on Hardeep Singh,president of DAV College,Sector 10. The accused have been identified as Karanbir Singh alias Karni,Lakhi and Goldy. The main accused,Karanbir is a DAV College student and belongs to Muktsar.

On Monday,around 3 pm,Hardeep was allegedly assaulted with sharp weapons by the accused when he (Hardeep) was on his bike in Sector 37. They also threatened the complainant and fled. Police recovered a rod used by the assailants in the attack from the spot.

Hardeep was severely injured in attack was and was admitted to General Medical Specialty Hospital,Sector 16 where he received multiple stitches on his head. A case under section 147,148,149,341,307 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered in Sector 39 police station.

Nand Kishore,Investigating officer(IO) of Sector 39 police station said,The victim was previously unfit to give the statement. We registered a case against three people and five unknown persons on the statement of the victim. No arrests have been made so far and the case is under investigation.

Sahajpal Singh,ex-president of the college alleged that the rival party members had previously threatened Hardeep during the student elections.
